Date Night

We actually had a date night! Scott's mom and aunt came up to watch the boys so we could attend drew and maggie's wedding reception (they were married in Mexico on our anniversary). It was a wonderful time. Think it is the 3rd date that we have had in the past 3 years....oh so sad!

Two words: Open Bar! It got the guys in trouble! I had my two drinks then stopped. Someone had to get us home. Scott on the other hand, really enjoyed himself. After sitting in the drive thru at taco bell, we headed home. Only for Scott to throw up in the taco bell bag, i then pulled the car over on 470 so he could finish, ran out of gas and had to stop at QT (keep in mind it was 2am), then had to stop about 4 blocks from home so he could throw up some more. Yep, he just had a little too much fun! This 32 year old can't hold the alcohol like he used to 10 years ago!

So after getting home at 2 am, scott slept on the bathroom floor in case he got sick again. Just as i was going to bed, Owen woke up to eat. Oh, and at 6am. I was damned if he was going to be up for good. Nursed him and put him back in his bed. He fussed a little but went back to sleep.....only to have Ryan get up at 7am. None of my boys were letting me sleep in. Even with grandma cathy and shelley here, Ryan wanted me up. So, i got up and laid on the couch. When Owen got up, this is what he went for.....

Yep, grandma cathy and great aunt shelley taught owen how to stand up behind the toy and start walking. It's not going to be too much longer til he is doing it on his own!!!!

Will i ever find a dress?

Will i ever find a dress for emily's beach wedding????? that is the big question! I took both kids to daycare just for the morning so i could go look for dresses....and found nothing! Why is it so hard to find a dress suitable for a beach wedding...casual yet cute. Well, no success with the dress today but the two Blue Chip Cookies were awesome! Maybe I will have better luck on the Plaza tomorrow.

After Owen's morning nap, we were off to Wal-Mart. Owen loves the great value cookies called "don't forget." They are kinda like sugar cookies....yes, i am that mom that let's her 10 month old eat them. Anyway, with five things on my list, a quick trip turned into a $70 trip! Once we got home, Ryan helped carry a few bags in and started unloading groceries. He put the turkey bacon and string cheese in the frig and put all of the babyfood in the lower cabinet. after all bags were emptied, i said something about the OJ. Ryan said "i put it up." i asked where he put and he opened the frig door and sure enough, it was sitting in the frig. Without asking, Ryan was my big helper. I gave him a big high five and said thanks for helping.

We headed to the pool after Owen's afternoon nap then came home and started making dinner. I am feeling under the weather....start of a sinus infection, so I headed to bed after dinner was ready. Ryan came in and laid down with me and told me he was sick, said he had a headache and needed to cuddle with me. Scott tried to get him out of our bedroom but he kept saying he had a headache. The boy has never complained of a headache in his life. How sweet, he just wanted to be with his mommy. We were watching Jon and Kate plus 8 (yep, the annoucement of the divorce episode) and ryan leaned over and kissed me, then said "love you mommy." It melted my heart. No amount of money can buy you those precious moments like that. Makes me realize how so very precious my two little boys are!

Road block

Until someone else comes along....
Then a road block is set up! Ryan has been known to use pillows and big toys to put around his toys that he is playing with so owen can't get to them. Or, he just tries to move his hand. When that happens, Owen screams....and mommy knows that owen is trying to play with Ryan's toys.

Although things settled down as i was unloading the dishwasher and fixing pancakes for breakfast. Ryan got a bowl out and he and owen shared some cherrios while they waited patiently for breakfast to be completed.

Friday

After breakfast, the morning started off with ryan playing with the neighbors and eating popsicles! poor owen, he wants to be a big boy and play with the older kids.....and eat popsicles too!

Then daddy came home at noon. He took a half day to try to get some things done around the house. He was playing with ryan while i was feeding owen in his high chair. By the time i made it into the family room, this is what i saw.....

So much for taking a 1/2 day to do things around the house, i guess playing with toys makes a big boy sleepy!

Later in the evening, we finally got a few things done. Finished washing all the windows and putting the screens back on. Scott had a few helpers!

i've never blogged before

there is always a first for everything! i have never blogged before so this is a big jump for me. i have a friend, maggie, who has moved away and blogs all the time. it is wonderful to read her blogs and see what she and her kids are up to. ryan loves to see pictures of cooper and all the fun things they do out in CA.

we just finished eating lunch and owen had a pear and corn for the first time. he loved his finger food! i am afraid i am going to forget little moments like these....and so the blogging shall start. it's more for me, of coarse, so i can remember all these precious moments, the funny moments, the stressful moments. so i can look back and realize how thankful i am for the wonderful family and friends that i have, for the wonderful life that i have been so blessed with!

bear with me as i learn how to download pictures and update the blogs. it will not be updated daily or every two days, like maggie does, but i will try to write about the unique things that go on with the kreisels!
