Yesterday, we went to the doc to have ears checked. Want to make sure ears are well before we fly next week. Owen's throat was red so they did a strep culture. Rapid strep was negative.
Today started out as a rainy and cold morning. I got canceled from work. My plan was to take the kids to daycare so I had the day to clean house and run some errands all by myself! Got the kids out the door by 8:15. Dropped each one off in their specific class and made it back out to the car. Checked my cell phone and I had a message. Figured it was work, calling me back in. To my surprise, it was the doc office saying owen's 24 hour strep culture came back positive so he could not be at daycare for 24 hours and antibiotics were called into our pharmacy. My thought..."You have got to be kidding me. This is supposed to be my day!" So, back inside I went. Got Owen and we headed back to CVS for antibiotics. We made it it home. What else do you do? Bake choc chip cookies with real butter! So much for my cleaning idea. Can't clean the house with a 14 month old around so eating choc chip cookies sounded much better!
I did get three loads of laundry folded, Owen's top dresser drawer organized, box of toys shipped to FL so the boys have toys to play with at the hotel, and a few bills were paid. It was kinda nice just having Owen around. He got a ton of attention! And it was super nice to take a nice long nap in the afternoon....almost an hour and a half! Now i remember what it as like when I just had Ryan!
So then that leads us to tonight. Put Owen to bed. Ryan and daddy were sitting on the couch watching the MU game. Scott yelled "crap" about lord knows what. Ryan quickly said "daddy, that's a bad word" Yes, daddy, listen to your 3 year old son! Scott asked him what he should say and Ryan responded with "Holy Cow" So, holy cow it is....if Scott can remember! Scott is sitting here right now, biting his nails, almost having a heart attack, watching the MU game. I told Ryan earlier to just kiss daddy good bye. I don't know what is going to kill him first, work or watching MU. Lordy, get this boy on some anxiety medication asap! Think i will make an appointment for Scott when we get back from FL!!!
On a more serious note, I would ask for prayers for Scott's cousin Tiffany. Tiffany's 17 month old daughter McKenzie was diagnosed with leukemia on Tuesday. Kenzie is only three months older than Owen. I couldn't imagine having to go thru what Tiffany is going thru. To add to the stress, Tiffany is approx 34 weeks pregnant. Her husband is in the airforce and will be deployed for a year. He leaves in less than a month. They are currently in Jacksonville, FL at a children's hospital, 2-3 hours away from their home at the air force base. Tif is in the process of requesting to be transfered back to Whiteman so she can be closer to family...to help with McKenzie and a new baby! Our thoughts and prayers are with them!!!!
